I received the motherboard (batch 1) after only 3 days (from Netherlands to France). That’s a new record
A friendly reminder for Windows users:
==> GRAB A COPY OF YOUR BITLOCKER RECOVERY KEYS BEFORE DOING THE SWAP !!!
After the reboot, Windows 11 asked for my bitlocker recovery key and … well… let’s just say I had to swap back to the old motherboard, boot into windows again, grab the keys, swap back again… orz
But then, I got a weird behavior after the second boot with the new 300-series board: The laptop would show a boot error message “fan not detected”, even though I could hear the fans spinning. I thought that I may have not reconnected the interposer properly, but after several attempts, swapping back between the RTX 5070 and the AMD 7700S module, using the previous interposer or the new one, same issue.
When doing a short press on the power button to skip, the laptop will continue booting, but is stuck at at 600Mhz on all cores (“0.6 GHz” in the task manager, I don’t know if it’s 600 or 5xx Mhz?)
I then proceeded to do a BIOS update, I was on bios LFKN6.03.00 and updated to LFKN6.03.04, and after a reboot, the fan warning is GONE, and the board is now back at regular clock speeds. During the update, I saw USB-PD2 was at 0.0.21 and got updated to 0.0.22.
I’m not sure if Batch 1 motherboards had an old BIOS (3.00) with a known issue that was resolved in the last 3.04 update?
I also received mine a day earlier than Fedex expected - picked up from taiwan at 2:46 AM yesterday (my time) and delivered to my doorstep at 2:46 PM today - an average speed of about 208 miles an hour - and that’s assuming the shortest path, which it did not take.
Same, Batch 9 and mine has HDD’s and RAM. At this stage no change in price (but ordered it just a fortnight ago). Everything but a dedicated Graphics card.
Received “We’re preparing your batch!” email a little less than 3 hours ago. No change in price from my last change to my configuration on 11-30. If it changes I’ll let the group know.
