FW 16 AMD not booting after bios update [opened support ticket GFJ54JI4]

fw 16 2024 with the AMD processor

Yesterday I ran the BIOS update from Linux using the instructions provided in the email I received about a week ago, I powered the system down after the update ran and requested a reboot, powered the system off completed the update. Or at least it appeared to be completed successfully.

System no longer will boot at all, there’s no post, the diagnostic lights by the charging ports are flashing red and blue with no pattern outside of an alternating red and blue.

I attempted to reflash using a USB drive according to the instructions and there was no change.

I have powered the system off multiple times, remove the battery and fully drained the board multiple times and have had no luck still.

During the firmware flash, were there any usb devices plugged in?
If so, which ones?

Nope, no external devices connected. Only thing plugged in was the power cable.

You will need to contact FW support via their web form.
The bios update broke your laptop.

Yea I went ahead and kicked one off. TBD on how things go.

Yeah that’s a failed bios update. Unless you are handy with board level flashing tools, I think you need a mainboard replacement.

Would you mind listing what you had connected to it while you flashed? It would be nice to know what causes this failure.

Nothing connected at all, I removed all my accessories and only the power cable was plugged in.

Dang that’s unfortunate. I definitely hold my breath every time I perform a firmware update on mine.
