FW12 Display backlight bleed on bottom

I just got my framework laptop 12, and I noticed on initial boot that there’s a bit of backlight bleed on the bottom of the display on my unit. It’s especially obvious on the boot screen when the display is otherwise black. Has anyone else noticed this or have this issue?

I’m wondering if it’s something worth contacting support about

I think most of them have some light bleed, to various degrees. I have one that has almost none in “laptop mode” and a tiny bit in tablet mode, and another that had a bit all the time. The one that had a little bit all the time was replaced due to the case cracking and the replacement has slightly worse light bleed than the previous one. I don’t really notice it in use, so I haven’t started a ticket about it.

If yours seems excessive to you, you could start a support ticket and send them some pictures to see what they say.

Same problem here, just on the right side.

I also have light bleed on the bottom of the screen. It’s quite noticeable not just on the boot up screen but in any 16:9 video with black letterboxing.

I have light bleed to. At the boot screen (black with high backlight) it is very strong.

In normal use I barley notice it

I noticed the same on the first boot.

Currently it doesn’t bother me, but i keep an eye on it.

I just noticed that I have a little bit of this as well. Has anyone noticed it getting more severe over time, or does it seem to stay pretty stable?

On mine, it is slightly different depending on the position of the display (tablet mode, laptop mode, tent mode) due to the varying pressure on the display from the hinges, but it hasn’t changed at all over time.

After using it for around a week, the backlight bleed isn’t too noticeable in everyday use, although it does definitely show when looking at darker content. So far it hasn’t gotten worse, but it is a bit more pronounced when pressure is applied to the screen

I noticed this the first day because I was setting up the software at night. This thread reminded me that I was going to check into the issue but apparently I don’t notice it during regular use.
