FW13 w/ an AMD 7840U running Windows 11 Pro 24H2. Occasionally (frequency varies dramatically), there will be strange visual glitches on the internal display. Parts of the display will almost rearrange themself for a split second (i.e. I’ll see half of the taskbar in the middle of the screen for a frame) before everything will go back to normal. This problem seems to be especially bad while watching YouTube on Firefox while the laptop is plugged in, though it happens at other times as well. I did replace the display panel some time ago and it seems to be worse after that replacement, but I believe it happened more than once before the panel replacement. I’ve checked that the display ribbon cable is properly seated into the motherboard (it is).
This is a hard one to describe and catch on camera due to how sporadic it is, but I’ll do my best to clarify anything!
I have the same problem on my 7640U. Almost the exact same setup and case-scenario as you. Windows 11 Pro 24H2, although the problem has been happening for awhile. Watching YouTube in Firefox seems to dramatically trigger the issue, however I also had the same issue during a Google Meet using Firefox this morning.
Hey @Oakley_Winters If you happen to catch it on video, please reach out to support. We’d like to look into it. A video would be very helpful so we can see what you’re seeing. Intermittent issues can be difficult to try to pin down.
I’ve been having the same issue although I’m on linux, I’ve noticed it happens more when charging or when the CPU is under load, I remember seeing on another forum post somewhere that the solution was to reseat the display cable but I’ve tried this twice with no luck.
I’ve reached out to support with a video. Here’s a screenshot from the video showing the issue for others who may be experiencing a similar issue. This artifact was only present for one frame (and it does not appear transparent like it does in the screenshot).
