FW13 AMD caps lock regularly gets inverted in Ubuntu

Often it’ll go light on while off / light off while on. Perhaps it’s getting toggled on the lock screen somehow? I’m not sure.

Anyone else get this problem on the FW13 or FW16 on Windows or not-ubuntu linuxes?

I have two FW16s, one running Ubuntu (mine) and one running Windows 11 (my employer’s). Neither of them unexpectedly toggle the caps-lock. Maybe you’ve gotten a bad keyboard?

That’s a bit odd. Please reach out to our support and we’ll take a look.

I did, but I don’t think it’s a thing for support.

I doubt it. GDM (or whatever the login screen is) doesn’t get it backwards, only Ubuntu.

It’s not unexpected. It tends to happen on screen unlock, maybe has to do with system updates, but too few data points to be anywhere near certain of hte pattern. That’s why I’m reaching out for more data points. See if it’s multiple laptop mainboards, Intel/AMD chipsets, Ubuntu-only vs other linuxes, Windows too or only linux, etc.

If you don’t find a resolution here, Support and the Linux team may be able to help. That’s what I meant.

I don’t know what “the Linux team” means. I have contacted support, as I wrote. I don’t think it’s an issue for support to handle.

‘The Linux Team’ = The Framework Linux team. They’re usually pretty good at figuring out some of the oddities and offering suggestions. I know you said you’ve already contacted, but If you don’t want to speak to support, you don’t have to… just offered the suggestion.

WTF?! I SAID I ALREADY DID. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AND IN THE SAME SENTENCE SAY I DON’T HAVE TO. It’s irrelevant that I don’t have to – I ALREADY HAVE.

No one is arguing with you. 1. I explained that I failed to convey my full thought and include the Linux Team to begin with, so clarified. Some customers may not know we have a team. 2. I explained what you said you weren’t sure of (the Linux team). 3. I then explained that there was no pressure to contact and / or speak / converse with support as you seem to think support will not be helpful.

Apologies if there was a misunderstanding, but I was just trying to answer your question posed.

This makes no sense. I said “I did” in my very first reply.

I said “I did” but in different words in my second reply.

Why would you “explain” to someone who has already contacted support, and told you so at least twice, that there’s no pressure to contact support?!

I continue to contend that support will have nothing to do with this, despite my already having obeyed your suggestion to contact them.

You’re absolutely correct that support has nothing to do with whether there’s anyone out there getting this problem. I’m with you on this.

I’m also with you on this. Just that OP hasn’t ask for help. It was merely a curiosity question from him, less so on a solution request. hahaha… So I’m not even sure why OP went and contacted support to begin with even OP believes support will have nothing to do with this. That’s like me calling the bakery to deliver newspaper…while knowing they have nothing to do with the newspaper. Mind boggling.
