Greetings all. I have recently bought a framework 13 intel i5 1340p mainboard off of eBay that was a mystery box item to try and fix it for a frankenpad project of mine.
I bought the minimum compatible ram (micron 2x8gb sodimm ddr4 3200mhz), power brick and cable (Anker 100w with safety monitor) and usb c to hdmi cable that supports DisplayPort alt mode. When I plug in the board it powers up, the LEDs flash red due to the seat intrusion switch, and the fan spins when I press the power button in the top right of the motherboard.
However, I am getting a problem when it comes to displaying anything just to reach the bios. The board gives me the post code G B B B B G B B or 0x7B which reads as failed display initialization, and I don’t know where to go from here to fix it. I’ve attempted switching the display out port to each of the other 3 and reversing the orientation. I’ve tried reflashing the bios via usb but idk if I’m doing it wrong, since I have to us a c to a adapter and also don’t know if I’m choosing or renaming the image file correctly. I’ve also used 2 different capsules for bios versions (3.07 and 3.09). The only other option that I can think of and that ChatGPT has helped me to arrive at is using an external programmer.
I’ve talked to support and they couldn’t give me any relevant information other than how to reset the mainboard (done), power cycle the board (done), and point me to the knowledge base and the community. It’s not a dead board because it powers and initializes everything except for the display.
