Hopefully I’m not the only one that’s been refreshing the forum and /r/framework daily to see when Batch 1 starts going out. I’ve even gone to refreshing the BIOS/Drivers page to see when they’ll be uploaded.
I’ve had my current laptop for three years and living with 16GB of soldered ram on Windows 11 has been painful. Also, Panther Lake looks like a massive step up in battery life and iGPU performance so now seemed to be the best time to upgrade. Very excited!
I’ve seen some creators received a FW13 Pro last month… anyone know when the review embargo lifts, in case there is one?
I can relate to the excitement. But I doubt they’ll start shipping before at least the start of July. I’m pretty sure even the first batch said “Ships July.”
On the other hand, I am interested to see what additional information might come out before then.
Thanks! I wasn’t sure when in July it would ship… so I’ve been eyeing how the earlier batches go out to get an idea of the cadence.
I currently have a Lenovo Legion with a Ryzen 7840HS and an RTX4060 so it has more horsepower than the FW13 Pro, but the soldered RAM, glossy OLED panel, bad battery life and unplugged performance have been a real challenge.
Interesting, I thought Legions had replaceable RAM. But I guess not all version.
I’m not exactly sure what all the FW 13 Pro will replace for me yet. The problem isn’t that it can’t really replace anything. It’s that it could probably replace everything.
Looks like I was wrong. The batch 1 folks are saying their pre-orders say it ships in June. In that case, continue as you were, refreshing repeatedly, lol.
Batch 4 in August seems likely based on the email they sent out. Since Batch 1 went from late June to late July, I’d imagine it’ll be late August for Batch 4. I appreciate their transparency with the issues they were having with the touchpad and display… still sucks, though. Back to the waiting game.
