FW16 not seeing 1TB expansion card on startup

Machine: FW Laptop 16 AMD 7040 Series with a NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070 module

BIOS version 4.03 (as of posting this – I was 4.02 earlier today and since last Dec)

I don’t know when it started happening, my FW16 has stopped automatically seeing the 1TB expansion card that I’d gotten with my machine back when the FW16 was still new. In order for my machine to see the 1TB expansion card, I have to remove it and put it back in. I’ve done the drive scan and repair recommended by Win11, and the scan found nothing to repair. Every time I restart my computer, or I wake it up from hibernation, it doesn’t see the card.

I currently have the 1TB card plugged into port 2, using Expansion Card Slot functionality on Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) as the port map.

Any ideas on why this might be happening, and how to resolve it?

It is not.

I just shut down my computer, moved the 1TB expansion card from bay 2 to bay 5 (using Expansion Card Slot functionality on Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series) as the mapping), and started my computer back up. This time upon startup, my computer automatically saw the 1TB expansion.

I did this because the USB-A expansion card I had in bay 3 appeared to be having connection issues, both when using it for my XBOX controller and for my wired mouse. I just swapped the USB-A expansion cards I had in bays 3 and 6, and the connection issues (so far) seem to have disappeared.

I’m now starting to wonder if I have an issue with the expansion bays in general on the left side of my FW16.
