FW16 Sound quality

Hi,

This is a comment on the FW16 Sound Quality.
I have been hearing vibrations and distortion to the sound when turned up to 80% +
I was curious where this problem was coming from so I simply added some vibration absorption material between the laptop and the desktop it was on. No changes to the insides of the FW16 laptop. In this case, it was a thin bit of foam type material that comes as the material encasing some laptop types when in the delivery box. So, low cost.
Summary:
It has fixed the problem for me.
So, if users are hearing sound distortion or vibrations, it might be worth considering what the laptop is resting on, and adding some vibration reducing material between the laptop and the surface it is resting on.

I guess a minor improvement to the FW16, might be changing the feet of the FW16 to a material that absorbs vibrations better, thus maybe removing my need for the foam type material.

I have the same issue on any resonant surface like a table, it appears to be due to something being slightly loose inside which I cannot find as when I lift my hands off it to stop vibration or remove input modules it stops

Same here! I can rest my hands on the laptop on either side and stop the weird vibrations 100%, but removing the touchpad spacers seem to do the same thing 65% of the time-ish. maybe printing out that full touchpad from their GitHub could work?

Maybe if it is solid and heavy enough to not vibrate substantially, I was also thinking you could fill extra space on the input modules with foam?

Maybe, but I don’t want to do anything too invasive, for now I’m going to deal with it and maybe later throw a thermal pad in there

Maybe something like this could help reduce vibration:
