I got 3 new Gen 2 keyboards today (US English w/ Framework logo super key) and just wanted to say a few things about them:
- It was mentioned that the uniformity of the power indicator around the power button was improved. I can confirm that this is 100% the case and I don’t notice spots that are brighter or dimmer than the rest of the indicator.
- The keyboard itself feels just like the old keyboard.
- I can’t comment on the plastic stabilizers being noisy with loud audio as I’ve never experienced this. However I can say that they feel the same when typing as the old keyboard.
- I managed to get three nice-feeling trackpads; I’m not sure if the quality of the trackpads has improved in general or if I just got lucky, however in the past I’ve received trackpads that feel, for lack of a better description, mushy, and required adjustment to feel okay.
So thanks Framework for improving this; it makes the laptop as a whole just feel a bit more premium.
