Getting USB error 43 on Framework desktop Bios 3.04

I’m experiencing persistent USB stability issues with the rear ports on my Framework Desktop (Ryzen AI Max+ 395). Looking to see if others have found permanent fixes for the following:

1. Insta360 Link: Audio/Video Conflict

The camera fails to initialize both video and audio simultaneously.

  • The Symptom: Only audio functions. To get video, I must use a separate headset for audio.

  • The Temporary Fix: Physically replugging the camera restores full functionality, but the issue returns immediately after a reboot.

2. Dell U4025QW Hub: Error 43

When connecting the monitor’s built-in USB hub to the rear ports, Windows reports Device Descriptive Request Failed (Code 43).

  • Status: I am currently testing different cables to rule out bandwidth/signal degradation, but the error persists across standard configurations.

System Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395

  • RAM: 128GB

  • OS: Windows 11

  • Peripherals: Insta360 Link, Dell U4025QW

Has anyone encountered similar power delivery or handshake issues with the rear I/O? Any BIOS settings or chipset drivers specifically for the Ryzen AI Max+ platform that improved USB stability for you?

Thank you for this! At the moment seems like there is no solution but wait for a bios update? `
The issue is that I see the error come in and nothing really happens. I can continue to use my computer without issues. Not sure if it is advisable or not.

Using Claude and reading other posts on here it seems like I should be doing some for a hard reboot. I will try that and hope that solves. Otherwise I am SoL till framework fixes the bios.

Update: I changed the cable (previously using the cable from Dell), and the issue seems to have resolved for now.

Also, now that I am connecting to the Framework desktop using the monitor’s hub, I am also able to use InstaLink 360 with audio and video at the same time.

I will continue to post here if I run into this issue. If you are reading this and found this while looking for a solution, I hope this helps you, as it was really difficult to resolve this issue for me, as it seems like I was the only one with a combination of these problems.
