I got my Framework a week ago and think most of the things are fairly configured right now. I do have a couple of frustrating issues with settings (not) being saved consistently between sessions.
I have a gb keyboard with numpad and have configured it with the compose key as being right alt. This is the content of my /etc/default/keyboard:
XKBMODEL=“pc105”
XKBLAYOUT=“gb”
XKBVARIANT=“”
XKBOPTIONS=“compose:ralt,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp”
When I’m in Cinnamon (Xorg), it works fine. Sometimes I go from Cinnamon to Gnome and this is where things start to go weird. For some reason, the compose key settings doesn’t carry over from the default keyboard config.
So then I fire up the gnome settings module and from there, check the keyboard. Lo and behold, the “Compose key” is set to disabled.
I can enable it, but once in a while the settings are reset.
Where can I start troubleshooting this?
