the hinges on the FW12 are not as good as I know it from other devices. But over the months the hinges became more and more loose over time.
Now it is that wobbly that, if I lift the FW12 from the table or laps the display flaps over the 180° which is really annoying, and I am not sure how loose it will get over the next months….
I start to doubt if this device can really last long….
Damn, that’s not great. Complete shot in the dark here, maybe try some loctite or similar thread locker on the screws? Should help and still be relatively easily undone should you ever need to.
It depends what exactly is causing the hinges to come loose, as in whether the screws are backing themselves out or they’re ripping themselves out.
I feel like someone else reported a similar issue of the original hinges quickly loosening. So it could be an occasional defect. I believe they got theirs replaced under warranty.
Both of my Framework 12s hinges loosened up a tiny bit since new, but haven’t continued loosening. I agree with your thought that if they continue to loosen, you should start a support ticket.
