Just wondering how I can check the warranty status of my framework 16 from batch 6?
The laptop has been shipping for less than a year. Assuming you are the original purchaser, and reside in a supported country, your warranty is still valid.
If you’re talking about service work being done by Framework under warranty, or if you aren’t the original purchaser, you will need to contact Framework support and ask them your status.
Unfortunately, I don’t think you can actually check it, as in checking a status page.
But you can calculate how many months you have left for this.
Based on the info from here Framework | Fix Consumer Electronics we can have:
- (1) year from the date of delivery of the Product (the “Warranty Period”) → Default
- UK, EU or EFTA, the Warranty Period shall be two (2) years
- Spain, the Warranty Period shall be three (3) years
- NOTE: If a different Warranty Period is specified in the order confirmation or invoice of the Product, that Warranty Period shall apply
You could calculate this from the moment you received your order, or, based on when it was dispatched.
I was starting to figure as such… Not much of a selling point for non tech people though.
Shame as I was going to look into seeing about purchases for organizations, but I think they will want the 1 and done throw aways with warranties instead.
Not quite sure what you mean? In the US (Framework being a US company), a one year warranty is standard. Generally, that period starts either at time of shipment or time of delivery. These are standards that Framework matches and meets. Given that the device has been shipping for less than 1 year, all original purchasers in supported countries are still covered.
If you are actually serious about inquiring about buying multiple laptops on behalf of a business, Framework has a “Framework for Business” program that would be able to provide you more information. If you’re buying 1000 laptops from them, asking for a self-service warranty lookup page seems like a reasonable ask for a contract of that size. Businesses also get their own contact, separate from consumers, so the level of service is likely higher.
That being said, Framework is primarily a small company in a large market with stiff and significant competition.
