Unfortunately, I’ve stripped a couple of screws on my input cover. I’m considering buying vampliers since that’s what a previous forum post suggest, but I’m not sure if its even possible considering how flush these screws are to the surface. Any suggestions? Yeah I made a pretty big mess trying to get that black screw out…
I have not tried this, but my first try would be to get a small bolt and use special metal glue to stick it at right angles to the screw head. Looking like an upside down capital T. You can then use pliers to turn the bolt by its edge.
You could experiment with some separate screws first, to see if the glue holds and provides enough torque.
Hi, I have successfully removed the stripped screws using a mini drill / grinder (Extol 404120). Originally I was going to grind off the stripped screws, but then I realised that I could use the grinder to unscrew them. All I had to do was to reverse the direction of rotation. The grinder does not allow this, so I made a small cable to change the polarity of the power coming from the adapter.
