I think I have the Famework 16 Midplate issue

I do believe that I have started to have the issue with the Framework 16 midplate that a few others have had…

I have the RGB keyboard and I can see that and my mouse lose power. Just now I took keyboard off and reseated it. This seems like it might my heat related because everything is fine at first power on then it starts up about an hour in. Have there been any reports of this issue being due to heat?

OS: Windows 11 24H2, although this is not OS dependent that I can see. Also happens in Ubuntu

Reseating everything seems to have fixed this issue

I’ve actually had to reseat the keyboard multiple times now. Doing this seems to fix it for a while each time. Do I need a midplate?

I think I have been having a similar issue. My keyboard and touchpad work well when I first start bootup, but after awhile my keyboard’s backlights will start flashing and running “journalctl -f” shows that the keyboard module disconnects and reconnects. I think its a heating issue as well, but idk how to troubleshoot.

Yes, i believe we are having the same issue

Anyone else out there with this?

My guess is that there is a fault with the cable, or the cable it not connected well enough.

FW Support should be able to help.

I’ve submitted a support ticket now. From all the other threads that I’ve read, sounds like this is a consistent issue among other Framework 16 laptops
