Improvement suggestions when buying a Laptop

Heyho,
when suggesting a Laptop to order for my company, I had two ideas for improvement when configuring a new Framework Laptop on the website.

  • Make it possible to share a configuration via URL. This would really help as you just could forward your exact configuration to other people (e.g. the HR department)
  • When comparing systems, it would be great to have benchmarks of the CPUs. Those could even be provided by Framework themselves in a Framework laptop. That would also be a good comparison to see whether your CPU behaves as expected after you received it. Currently, when I click the “Compare” button on the configuration page next to the “System” section, it shows me the differences of the three CPU models (amount of cores etc) among other data like the display size, weight etc (which of course does not differ for different CPU models). But if I want to know how the different CPUs perform, currently I need to go to 3rd party websites.

I am not sure if this is the right location for that, but I didn’t find a better place for discussion.

First one is already possible as mentioned here: Reddit - Dive into anything
As for benchmarks, it is better if independent reviewers do the comparisons as A) they are impartial and B) they can do further testing to really showcase a CPU’s performance. Testing a CPU requires multiple benchmarks and that is time-consuming.

Hi!
Thanks for the reply and the hint with the link - I didn’t spot it but I will use it next time.

I understand that it is better and more trustworthy if independent reviewers do the benchmarks. However, I thought it would be more convenient for potential customers to find them directly on the home page. I think that mostly the benchmarks should be able to be verified by external reviewers, or here in the community forum. Also, I am sure that Framework has this data anyway and just could publish it to help choosing the CPU without doing any deeper research
