Internal eDP to USB-C? Or HDMI?

I would like to use the internal eDP port, to connect to a monitor, instead of a laptop screen.

I was advised devices like the following AliExpress one, but I’m not sure what it’s for, because it looks more like it’s a control board to turn a laptop screen into a monitor. I do not want that.

Looking at the AliExpress listing you posted it appears to work for what you want. It will take the eDP signal from the laptop and allow display out from the HDMI port.

I really wish I knew for sure. That’s not exactly a cheap item if I’d have literally zero use, and AliExpress is… shady, to say the least.
