Is there a list of diagnostics that can help me check the hardware on a Framework 12 when I receive it?

I went ahead and ordered a Framework 12 for my kid for Christmas, but I am bit concerned now that if we find anything is wrong after Christmas I’ll be eating into my 30 day return window. Does anyone know if there’s a checklist of some kind of what metaphorical tires to kick on new hardware? I want my child and I to walk through the process of building the laptop together and as part of that we could check things are OK before I get swamped by other holiday events, because if there are problems there’s a high chance my kid might not recognize them early enough to report them to me in time.

Sometimes on Reddit I’ve seen people say support has told them to reinstall an OS or do something similar, so I’m wondering if Framework supplies any diagnostic software, or recommends an certain distro or image to install to the primary disk initially to check things out. The plan after that is to setup Fedora.

Fedora is one of the supported distros, so using that for checking stuff out should be fine. I don’t think there is a special diagnostics system. I’d recommend using Fedora Workstation, since that seems to be the edition with the best support.

In the 30 day window, I would mainly check if the screen is to your liking, since potential pixel errors or the bad color reproduction might not be handled by warranty.

Otherwise, I’d mainly check if the system correctly switches to tablet mode and back and if all USB ports work for charging and data transfer.
