Is there supposed to be an LED around the power button?

I see people’s pictures of FW13 with an LED lit up around the power button, and mention of software that can control it… mine has never once lit up, to the point that I first thought it was just a weird design choice to have a clear border around it instead of an LED.

What is the deal? Is this supposed to work? Can I control it?

Running Bazzite 42 (but I assume the OS should be unrelated)

Yes, it has a white led around the sides.

I think it’s in the BIOS. Backlight is FN/spacebar and power is BIOS.

Was your Framework bought 2nd hand / used? If so, perhaps the previous owner disabled the power button light, one way or another.

If not, when did you purchase your Framework? You might have an issue with your power button light. By default, the light should be active, without you needing to do anything.

yes you can control it and even change the color

As far as i know this is not possible anymore on the newer boards which only have white led. Some older Intel board did have rgb(?) led in them.

ah ok. do we know what model exactly ? since when ?

I am not totally sure but I faintly remember that it might be that only the first intel board had the multicolor led (maybe the 12th gen had it too).

Brand new, 1st batch 2nd Gen (350).

It seems like the consensus is I should have an LED that works there, though new ones are white only and not controllable full RGB.

Seems tragic that the color options are gone.

I did earlier after posting the OP check my bios and see the setting related to the button and it is set to Auto brightness apparently but no setting made it light up or do anything.

Seems like mine might be a lemon…
