Keyboard inop w/Ubuntu 24.04

Assembled my new Ryzen AI 300 and attempted to install Ubunutu 24.04. The keyboard immediately crashed; the Caps Lock key light came on and there was no keyboard function. Took the computer apart a couple times looking for a loose connection. None found. Tried installing Ubuntu 22.04. Same results.
Decided to try Fedora and that succeeded. I haven’t used Fedora for a long time and struggled to get it configured to my liking.
But now it seemed to be a keyboard driver problem.
Installed Ubuntu 25.04 and everything works fine.

Successfully installed Ubu 24.04 after running Fedora 42 for a few weeks. Since Ubuntu installation failed consistently when I tried installing it on clean system and now works fine, I’m guessing (!) that a firmware update under Fedora solved the Ubu problem. Glad to have my favorite OS back.

I’m having the exact same issue. Not happy to have to go with Fedora first…

Thanks for this, I seem to be having the identical issue. Since an external USB keyboard is working for me, I’m hoping I can just install Ubuntu, update firmware using the external keyboard, and get the laptop keyboard operational.
