Hi,
Just got a new FW16 on 24-May-2024, Batch 16. Opened it and installed RAM and NVME.
Put it back together but the keyboard did not work, so I could not get into the BIOS.
I removed a “spacer” and the bios detected that it had been removed. So at least this proved the cable to the midplane was working OK.
I plugged a USB keyboard in, and that worked fine. Got me into the BIOS and worked in GRUB.
After booting Ubuntu 24.04, the laptop keyboard worked in Ubuntu, just not BIOS entry or Grub.
I firmware upgraded from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3 using fwupdtool in Ubuntu.
It asked to reboot and sat for a few minutes doing all the upgrades.
I went into the BIOS and selected “Defaults”.
Laptop keyboard (for UK) now works to get into BIOS and in Grub and in Ubuntu.
Summary:
I just thought I would mention how I fixed the keyboard problem, in case new users have similar problems.
