As the title says the keyboards seem to be pretty susceptible to heat. I’m using the AMD 7040 series with a 7700S graphics card and I game pretty regularly (Helldivers, Project Zomboid, Kerbal Space Program, etc) and I also develop games which can sometimes be pretty intensive on the device.
For the first time my D, and Shift keys had started to fail which was no biggie.
I did the usual trouble shooting of cleaning connections, checking the other keys and modules for defectiveness, but all the other parts of the keyboard were working (the numpad and the mousepad) and then once again checking connection, doing a reset of the keyboard, etc.
I know I had bought in early I expected it not to be fully smooth sailing. I sent a support ticket in and got a replacement for the keyboard easy peasy. A very painless experience.
But now its starting to happen again with the exact same key and it seems to only happen when the computer is running something intensive same as last time.
Now putting both of these incidents into perspective from when I first got my computer to the time it started malfunctioning the first time it was 10/23/24 to about 6/21/25 (About 8 months) and the 2nd time 10/23/25 till 12/15/25 (a couple days ago from this post about 5 months).
Now I can understand having to replace my keyboard every couple of years or so, that’s the reason I bought this laptop. I didn’t expect every part to last forever but a part like this that is pretty crucial to functioning of the laptop failing in this short of a time frame in the same way twice is just unacceptable. I’m hoping i just got unlucky twice with a faulty keyboard module but from lurking around here I’ve seen a couple of other people have had the same problem.
If anyone has any other troubleshooting tips I could use that I missed Id love the help!
