This is a RTC battery problem, right? My Laptop 13 loses time and, eventually, whole days on the system tray clock whenever it is shut down for any period of time. It also won’t boot from battery – even if the battery is at 100% – but only when connected to power. You can, however, boot it with the power cable attached and then immediately detach the cable, and the computer will continue to run without a problem for the normal lifespan of the battery. If instead you leave it plugged in while running, the time in the system tray will even correct itself after a little while.
I just want to be able to boot the computer without using the cable every time. Thoughts?
I’m using Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100. I have a Laptop 13, Intel 11th gen. I have contacted customer service but they’re delaying as I didn’t order this computer myself - my work purchased it for me - and I don’t have all the information they require before they will talk to me.
Yes, reach out to support. They replaced my RTC battery free of charge out of warranty on my batch 4, 11th gen Intel Framework 13. This was after some troubleshooting steps.
Thanks!
I made a post with a description of the two separate problems that could lead to that situation and the remedies offered by framework: Laptop won't power on unless i plug in AC power - #216 by Tom1
Thank you so much - this is exactly what I needed. They are in the end sending me a new battery (and I appreciate your scaring me off from trying to solder the fake battery!). Much appreciated.
