Just installed the M.2 adapter. I got it to work in the end, but there were some hiccups:
- the instructions were generally very good, but there were some discrepancies and confusing steps for reassembly (number of screws etc.)
- the included thermal pads were in individual bags, marked by A, B, and C. The pads in the bags did not match the descriptions for A, B, and C in the instructions. That’s how I ended up one thermal pad short for my single-sided 2280 SSD.
After reinstalling the new interposer, at first I got a message that the ‘expansion bay cable’ was improperly attached. After reinserting the fan cables in the expansion bay several times, I finally realized it meant the interposer when it said ‘cable’. Carefully equally seating the four screws in the interposer finally got rid of that message eventually.
Pretty cool expansion card though.
