I would love to see a mate non touch display on the Framework 12.
I feel the touchscreen useless and too much reflective, if an option would be available I would buy it without any doubt…
I’m sure you could disable the touchscreen in your preferred OS if you just don’t want it to react to touch.
That said the 12 is a convertible tablet which wouldn’t make much sense without a touchscreen; maybe what you’re really looking for is the 13?
That said if what you’re wanting is a non-reflective display, there do exist anti-glare screen covers that stick on, or if the size is right you might be able to use one of those nano texture screen protectors for iPads/tablets which I believe also reduce glare.
If you don’t want the touchscreen, just get an older Framework 13 model for a similar price. The touchscreen/convertible thing is kinda the point of the Framework 12.
I didn’t wait for your input to come up with this idea… The reason I look the 12 is for the form factor i like the most as I am traveling a lot.
What you say is subjective, I can also argue that the whole idea of Framwork is alwo to have different piece and it would not be a bad idea to have a normal screen without the convertible/touch screen and instead a mate screen option
The 13 is not that much bigger (mostly just taller) and weighs about the same
yes the 13 is :
15.85mm x 296.63mm x 228.98mm
the 12 is :
18.45 x 287.00 x 213.88mm
so yes it is almost 1.5cm less tall, it seems nothing but this make a big change in plane
