Hey everyone!
I switched from Windows to Linux (Fedora Workstation) back in December.
However, this has caused me major issues while using the integrated microphone of the FW16 - and I haven’t been the first or the second to report as much.
Rather than the system volume setting and the physical gain of the microphone being mapped 1:1 onto each other, the microphone gain already reaches 100% while at a mere 32% in KDE.
When I try to increase it further, the mic gets gradually more boosted instead.
When maxing out the slider in KDE, the boost reaches around 30db - rendering my voice indecipherable for everyone else.
I have experienced this issue on both generations of the Webcam Module, so a hardware fault is unlikely.
I have tried looking into ways to adjust the scale and/or disable Mic Boost entirely, but I have had no luck so far.
If this is something that I can fix myself, I would be grateful if someone could help me to do so.
Thank you in advance, hope we can figure this out!
