Hi everyone!
I just got my new Framework 13 AMD edition. I’ve been really happy with it, except with the fact that the quality of the recordings from the microphone is really disappointing. It seems I can’t upload audio files to the forum directly, so I’ve attached a recording I made with GNOME Sound Recorder as a Google Drive link.
Is this normal? If not, is there anything I can do about it?

Sounds like the microphone gain is turned up way too high in the OS.

Concur, on both 11 gen and AMD I had to turn the internal mic gain the GNOME sound settings to roughly just under the 1/3rd “mark” in the UI.

Thanks for replying so quickly! That was the solution.

Does anyone know how to do this in KDE? I didn’t see a setting that looked like microphone gain.
Just lower the mic volume from the volume widget.
I have mine set to ~30% and people can still hear me very well. I suspect that the scale to 100% in Linux is overkill.
