Mouse issues upon waking from sleep mode

I’m having issues with my prebuilt Framework 13 AMD Ryzen 7040 + Windows 11. Sometimes, when I set it to sleep and then wake it back up, the mouse glitches out. I’ve had this happen with both the built-in trackpad and an external USB-A mouse connected through a USB-C port via a docking station. It doesn’t happen every sleep/wake cycle, but instead seems to occur stochastically.

The cursor continues to display and moves around in response to mouse input, but left and right clicks will yield erratic behavior. Single clicks will sometimes cause multiple clicks, and sometimes no response at all. If I either sign out of my Microsoft account and sign back in or restart the laptop, the issue disappears.

All my firmware and Windows is up to date. Any help regarding the issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have a similar issue but only with the touchpad. It seemingly happens when it’s been a “while” since I last rebooted the laptop…3+ days typically. The cursor movement has odd behavior and seemingly is not moving exactly where you expect (but it pretty close…it’s just enough to make you know something is off), and it often clicks each time I touch the touchpad to move the cursor which is my bigger issue. Restarting fixes it. This issue exists in both Framework 13s that I own, so it is either a driver or hardware issue.

My laptop is off when I’m not using it, so I never have it on over 24 hours. Otherwise, your issue does seem related to mine, with only a difference in severity: I don’t think I’ve seen spontaneous clicking when the cursor moves around, although it fails to highlight icons on the taskbar. Additionally, I’m curious: when you say you only have an issue with the touchpad, does that mean you sometimes use an external mouse but just haven’t seen it happen there?
