My USB bus controller Not Installed in Device Manager and Broken Ports

I have a Framework 13 13th gen Intel.
I tried to installed the most recent bundle driver and bios update for my laptop. But my four ports seams to not work, nether with the expansions cards that I have, nor an external hub.
The problem seams to be the USB controller.

P.S. : My computer is in a french version so the screenshot is in french, but I don’t think it’s the problem.

uhhh try to roll back your USB controller?

I don’t know how to do that. How could I do that.

in device manager you should be able to right click on the problematic device and hit roll back driver

right click on the problematic device>properties>drivers>roll back driver

Your USB controllers may also be the issue, which are under Universal Serial Bus Controllers

The option is grayed out.

Hi @Nathan_Boudreau,

Welcome to the community.

You should reach out to Framework support to help you troubleshoot the issue. They have the best tools and guides to narrow down what is wrong.

It was mentioned this happened after a BIOS and driver bundle update.

Could be a bad BIOS update (not all modules were flashed correctly; there are more than 1)
Bad driver bundle download
Corruption on the SSD
Hardware failure of the controllers
Something not initialized upon POST

We can suggest different things here on the forum though we do not have the same knowledge as the support team in charge of solving problems.

It does not help now, though a restore point or full system backup might have been able to save the driver state to eliminate that possibility. Let us know how it turns out.

Bonjour! (That is nearly the extent of my French)

try uninstalling and reinstalling the device from your system in device manager

Thank you for the overview, I will direct my efforts towards Framework’s support team and I’ll share the solution to my problems on this page, if someone as the same problem as me.

And have a nice day!
Or in french: Passé une bonne journée!

hmm …
Is this Windows 10?

Yes, it is, but my other partition where Linux Mint is, doesn’t even boot.

After going thru a mutlitude of emails with the Framework Support, the conclusion was to replace the motherboard. And after receiving the new motherboard, the USB ports work again and all the other issues were solved.
