Very happy with my 13’ Framework ( Order date 26 Feb 2022 Batch 9 ). Only the battery could be just a bit more “heavier”. So when in my mailbox the possibility showed up for a 61Wh one instead of the old 55Wh, I almost immediately tried to order one …
But no, this reaction was displayed
“Sorry, we only have stock of that item at one warehouse. You can only purchase it when combined with a laptop order.”
Framework: you are undermining your mission statements !!
This should just be temporary, until more stock is available.
Shipping a battery that is not contained inside a device is tricky due to shipping regulations. So if they only have batteries at the factory (for example), they probably can’t ship them separately to customers from there, due to shipping restrictions/regulations.
Hopefully they are able to get stock distributed around the warehouses soon.
This argument I understand. My problem is that the battery is already being offered on the marketplace without mentioning that this is only available (for now?) with the purchase of a complete system. Earlier at Framework I indicated I was interested in a new battery and then I was given the option to indicate to be alerted, when they were available again. I received that message, but I was effectively cheated.
