My new FW 13 AMD connects to my monitor through HDMI or USB-C, but it cannot play any video while connected to external display. Do you have any experience with this behavior? I tried a wide selection of cables, cannot make it work.

Obligatory step 0: you aren’t using port 2, right?
Unfortunately, USB and HDMI are terribly overcomplicated standards, and there are entirely valid reasons for neither of these connections to work. You definitely aren’t the only one to experience this (try searching these forums)! Without knowing the models of the monitor and cables (and adapters, if any) you’re using, it isn’t possible to give a specific answer.
Hi, I am using a correct port. My old LG Gram works perfectly fine with any cable I choose. My monitor is Dell U2723QE UltraSharp 4K USB-C Hub Monitor. I am using a USB-C cable that came with the the monitor and bought a seccond new USB4 cable and also several different HDMI cables.
The laptop connects to the monitor, but as soon as I try to play a video on YouTube or local video file, it just does not work. The laptop starts to act confused.
Just to confirm, does the monitor not show any signal, or does it show signal but not play video?
This monitor is not also powered over USB-C, correct?
The monitor connects through both USB-C and HDMI. But when connected, my Framework 13 is unable to play any video, streamed or local file. Just a black rectangle
What OS? Have you tested with any other displays?
Windows 11 Pro with latest update. I am gonna try different panel, but since my old Laptop works on a 2023 4K Dell monitor, this one should too. Thank You for your help.
I am facing the same issue (connecting via usb c). However, in my case it was working earlier. There was a windows update and since then its just a black screen on youtube and every other video streaming window.
Additionally, after disconnecting from the monitor, video does not immediately work even on the laptop screen; I have to restart to make it work again.
Same spec laptop as OP. Running windows 11, update took place 2 days ago.
Pls do look into it - thanks a lot.
My monitor: Dell S2722DC 27-inch USB-C Monitor.
[FIXED] disabling AMD Audio CoProcessor solved the issue. Device manager > System Devices>AMD Audio CoProcessor and disable + restart
so relieved
Hello, thanks for your insight. Does your solution have any collateral issue?

Nothing so far. Video and audio, and everything else works like before.
I’ll keep y’all posted if something weird pops us
