OS (Operating System) - Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.22621 (it maybe more recent, but unable to confirm due to this problem)
Framework 13 12th Gen
Laptop 13 Mainboard (12th Gen Intel® Core™) - i7-1260P
Motherboard FRANMA0000
Had motherboard exchange from support a few months back (Feb 2025) due to a previous issue with the touch pad. Everything operating as normal until it suddenly wasn’t.
The Issue -Laptop no longer booting, I press the power button, it lights up and boot leds goes through the checks (See order below), But nothing then happens after that
I will add this problem started as an issue with shutting down the laptop, It started to not shutdown,
I would go through the normal shutdown process, but it would run the process but not power off and sit there with the fans running, the only way to shut it down was holding down the power button.
What Framework Support Have Said
Had lots of back and fourth with them about the issue
- No clear diagnosis of the problem, but ran through lots of troubleshooting
- They have concluded the motherboard needs to be replaced, but because it is out of warranty I have to pay for the replacement (wish I had staid with my old board now
)
What Fixes/Diagnostics Have I Ran?
- Gone through the basic laptop not powering on checks and memory resets etc
- Tried different memory
- Tried booting from USB bootable image (cannot even get into bios), nothing outputs onscreen
- Checked all connections

I am hoping this could be a fixable issue, but from what I have read and seen it could be a CPU issue, so not sure how easy a fix this will be.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, hopefully i don’t have to buy a whole new motherboard,
