OcuLink Expansion Bay Module

Would you be willing to share the stl files for your pcb base? It could be very useful for those of us going for a similar setup.

Sure, I can do that. I’ll try to find a suitable place for sharing, in the meantime if anyone wants it PM me.

@H_Sundelin hello, I would be interested in receiving the stl files for your pcb base, thank you for sending it!

Beware i just got a minisforum DEG1 pcie to oculink (with redriver) and i’am unable to use it with my first NFHK nvme to oculink adapter.

I just order a new Osmeta adapter wich another guy sucessfully tried, but it seem adapter with redriver are way more reliable.

In the end i probably would prefer a simple full PCIE slot in the back with a riser.

Could some post Josh’s “OcuLink 8x update email” from July? I bought into the preorder after this email was sent, and would like to see see what the latest official update is. Thanks!

I have it all finalised, just awaiting the review result from the Framework team.

What is the maximum storage capacity of the ssd for the OcuLink 4x prototype?

Hi i was able to use an EGPU DEG1 on both Framework 13 & 16

It’s an oculink dock, but i use a USB4 adapter before getting Josh Adapter

I’am a bit worried about compatibility of the adapter because i got to buy two (NFHK & Osmeta), only the osmeta work, i needed also to use a modify script to get display.

Oh ok you just answered my questions from another forum LOL

I just ordered and super excited…i"m curious is this really a plug and play type? I’m just thinking of connecting it to an oculink epgu, it work correct? 8x pcie? Anyone else doing an EGPu setup?

Do you need testers for the 4x prototypes?

Yes, I want to do a setup with an 7900XT(X) and eventually play around with hotplugging on linux.
Main purpose will be gaming though.

Im on the same boat as you… looking to use my 7900 gre as well

oculink 4x Pcie works like a charm already ^^ I use it everyday with a 4070Ti, there’s a thread dedicated to testing actually :]

Sorry for the silly questions, but the 4 pcie works, the difference between that and the 8pcie is just the power it can take out allowing for larger hours to be powered correct? Would love link to the testing thread too please

x8 has nothing to do with power, it’s double the bandwidth, which translates to more performance.
I don’t get what you mean by hours.

@Christian_Elsner answer is correct, it has nothing to do with power and most devices using Oculink connection would most likely have their own power supply (or at least no battery in the setup) so i don’t understand the thing about the hours etc…

Sorry for the confusion, I guess I’m asking if I get the 8pcie, that just means more power and I’ll be able to power 4pcie?
