I have Silicon Power 2x32gb 5600MHz CL42 sticks
Hey, with some testing I did I found that the RAM on my Framework 16 overheats. When in GTA V/Metro Exodus, if the APU goes over 83 degrees the frame time has large spikes which make games virtually unplayable. Even if I’m reaching 60FPS, the stutters make it feel worse than 15. Only in Counter Strike 2 were the temperatures over 83 degrees and the game was enjoyable.
With some testing with the ram, reseating it, cooling it, etc. I found that cooling the ram fixed the issues until the ram got up to temperature again. Right now I’m trying to use the midplate to cool the ram but I’m having issues with not enough pressure to move heat effectively with my thermal pads. Any help? Maybe something software like undervolting the ram?
This hasn’t happened before, a month or so ago with other games it was fine. Even longer ago with other more demanding games like The Last of Us remastered it was fine. Only now it’s not. I’ve had this RAM since I got the laptop back in May 2024
