Interested in getting a portable display, wondering how feasible it would be for framework or anyone to make one thats using the “common“ parts from Framework laptops of all sizes.

Could you just buy a ready-made one? See for example this list. Maybe I am missing something, but I don’t see the value in needing this to be made out of Framework spare parts.
Yes one could, but having a Framework Portable display variant, would allow reuse of displays, and would offer a repairable and upgrade-able portable display. Eg if some buys a display upgrade they could buy the bare-bones portable display kit for their old screen and make use of the old screen, etc. Other portable displays while cheaper would not have the Framework level of flexibility and repair-ability. Just an Idea seems like it could work and would offer the same benefits of having a repairable laptop. Possible could even use the expansion modules to offer display and power port options. Full size HDMI, Display port etc…

Gotcha, that makes sense. I suppose though, to play devil’s advocate for a moment, one would need Framework (or other manufacturer) to take it to mass market, in order to move the needle, ecologically speaking.
That said, I’d agree that the project in your link is impressive!
I’ve got a spare 13 display and have also been looking for a way to repurpose it.
