PSA Bios sets right ctrl as copilot key by default…I have no idea why this was done. But in case you’re wondering why right ctrl doesnt work.
Did it work before? If no, did you check if you selected the right keyboard map?
If yes and you are 100% sure this is a firmware issue and not a keyboard mapping issue you should create a issue here:
Meanwhile as a hotfix on the Framework 13 you could try a key remapper like

I should have clarified, this is a bios “feature” and you dont need a software remapper, you can turn it off in the bios. I purchased a prebuilt 13 pro with ubuntu on it that had this setting on by default.
Specifically an intel 13 pro with the x7 358h

Framework shouldn’t map copilot key by default on a pre built Ubuntu laptop with input cover keyboard right control printed right control. This is framework’s omission
My Framework Laptop 13 Ryzen AI 5 340 DIY edition with the second gen keyboard didn’t have this on by default as of the preinstalled 3.X BIOS version and doesn’t if I load BIOS defaults on 4.02.
Hey there, thanks for flagging this. I saw you mention you purchased the prebuilt and it was set by default, but just want to double check when you first turned it on, it was set to copilot? Did you do any bio updates as well or was this strictly out of the box?
My prebuilt w/ Ubuntu was also set to Copilot in BIOS out of the box. I immediately installed CachyOS so the BIOS was the first thing I went into.
