[RESPONDED] Problems with WIFI (Fedora 39)

Hi everyone,

Recently I’ve been having trouble with wifi on my fedora partition, I don’t know what caused it. I thought it came from a Bluez update at first but i’m becoming less and less sure about that, here is the output of dmseg --level=err,warn

I would be happy to help any troubleshooting, I’m at a loss right now on how to fix it.

Thanks in advance

Hello @Iori_Kitahara

can you also post your whole journal logs?

journalctl -b 0

also, can you give more details to the wifi problem? is not finding the wifi module?
also is bluetooth functioning? To be sure if it’s current install issue or Hardware, can you try checking with Ubuntu live 22.04.3?

cheers!

Thank you for your quick reply.

I’m currently checking if it is a software or hardware issue, but I would bet on software. Bluetooth works fine.

The problem I have does not happen all the time; just sometimes, I won’t be able to connect to a WiFi network. At my workplace, there is an open WiFi network where you have to log in from a browser, and this one works just fine. However, the other network, where I need to use an account without the browser (username and password in the KDE Plasma widget), does not work. When I click on connect, it loads for a tenth of a second and then does nothing. After it’s done loading, which appears as a small flash, it automatically connects to another network, in this case, the open one. I’d like to note that it does not show the login prompt either; I am already logged in with the correct credentials.

I don’t remember having this issue with my home WiFi.

I’m currently at home, but tomorrow I will try to record it.
