Sata to USB won't work

Hi, I noticed that there’s no way external SSD can work on any port of my laptop. I have a 7640U and I tried on all four ports. I also have two USB-A expansion cards, so I had the chance to swap them out.

The adapter I use is: SABRENT Cavo SATA SSD/Hard disk esterno USB 3.2 Gen 2 con adattatore usb C, Adattatore SSD esterno/HDD per SATA 2,5", fino a 10 Gbps [per SSD, supporto UASP SATA I II III] per Windows, Mac (EC-SS31) : Amazon.it: Informatica

I tried the adapter on multiple SATA SSD, but at the moment I encountered this issue on a SanDisk SDSSDH3-500G.

I have none of these issues when I use the adapter on other manufacturer’s laptop (with mainly Intel’s chips, but also old AMD’s).

I found two old threads on this forum that were very close to discussing this same problem, but there was no solution attached. I was wondering if in the meantime someone experienced this issue and found a solution.
