i just got a FW12 and installed KDE neon. now im having trouble with the webcam setup, as there are about 50000 available cameras and i have thus far been unable to find which one i have to use.
In case that is important information, i always get this error message: Unable to initialise camera. Check your port settings and camera connectivity and try again.
i have not been able to find the port settings or camera connectivity.
i would be very thankful for help 
I’m not running Neon - plain old Debian 13 with a KDE desktop. It found my webcam with no intervention using the uvcvideo driver.
v4l2-ctl --list-devices
Framework Laptop 12 Webcam Modu (usb-0000:00:14.0-7):

/dev/media0
If I run a webcam app like kamoso, it just works (if the switch is on - not red). I’m wondering that since you see a zillion models listed if you are in System Settings / Disks & Cameras / Cameras which does list lots of cameras. That is for setting up mounting an external USB camera as a disk, not for webcam use
Of course Debian is not Neon so this post might be completely unhelpful.
