Recently just installed Fedora Linux, and my camera will not work. It wasn’t working in the live install, and it’s not working now. I know it can work, because it was working on windows prior to installing linux. The camera IO is enabled in the bios, and the privacy switch is disabled, meaning everything should be fine hardware wise.
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling cheese, but to no avail. Running guvcview gives me the error “no video device (dev/video0) found,” meaning that the camera probably isn’t being detected by the system.

I recently installed Fedora, and the webcam isn’t working. I’ve tried removing and reinstalling cheese.
I’ve powered off the computer, turned on both the mic and camera, and powered on, and that hasn’t worked.
Here’s what I get when I enter lspci into the terminal:

Running guvcview gives me an error, no video device (/dev/video0) not found.
I’m wondering what I can do to get the webcam working again. I use zoom, so I kinda need it to work
To me, this definitely sounds like a hardware issue, like the camera cable might not be connected properly or the privacy switch might not be installed correctly. Or are you sure that it works with windows or other os?
@RandomUser It is enabled in the bios. Since it may be a hardware issue, I will take my laptop apart and reassemble when I have time this week, and I’ll give an update
