Suggestion: Framework Expansion Card for SIM Cards
Hey everyone!
I wanted to throw out an idea for discussion: how about creating a framework expansion card for SIM cards? This could be a game-changer for anyone who frequently switches between different networks or travels a lot (and for business).
Why It’s Worth Considering:
- It could simplify connectivity for travelers and help businesses manage mobile plans more effectively.
- Helps with broaden framework usability thus the increasing community.
- There is already precedent in other laptop.

Update: After conducting some research, it became clear that the Framework laptop does not have the capabilities to support a SIM card, as it lacks a modem to facilitate a connection to a cellular network. This means that if we were to create one, it would need to include a modem in the expansion card.
So (stating the obvious), the expansion card would have to include both the SIM reader and the modem.

i was thinking the same,… and stubled on this, unfortunatly its usb-A , if they made it in usb-c or with m.2, or a molex slimstack -like connector, since i think that way an empty shell is all that is left to have a suitable product
