[SOLVED] Bluetooth Driver Not Working on Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series)

I am just setting up my first framework computer and I am not able to use the bluetooth. It seems this is common for the Ryzen AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series but I haven’t been able to find anything specific to AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series in documentation or previous support posts. I am using Windows 11 on a Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series).

I’ve tried unplugging the laptop, shutting down while holding the left shift button, waiting a minute, and then powering up again with no success.

Any help with what driver I should install or any other troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the community @molliewobbles !

Was the driver pack for Framework Laptop 16 downloaded and installed?

It usually includes all the drivers that the Laptop 16 needs to function in Windows.

Windows update does not always pull the right drivers for devices right out of the box sometimes.

Hi @pkunk thanks for the response! So I put wifi drivers on the flash drive when installing windows per this guide: Windows 11 Installation on the Framework Laptop 16 DIY Edition - Framework Guides

But I am gathering that I should have installed more drivers?

I am seeing the following info on the framework site:

So I gather I should download the Windows BIOS v4.01 Installer and the Windows Driver Bundle v2.00. Should I also download the EFI Shell Update (BIOS v4.01)? I don’t know what that is.

Thanks again! (This IS my first rodeo haha)

Hi molliewobbles!

Yes, the driver bundle will have everything for the Framework Laptop 16. The other file is the BIOS update which is probably not needed at this time. Periodically the driver bundle will be updated with the drivers that Framework has tested and confirmed working correctly with all the hardware that came with the Framework Laptop 16. There is usually a driver bundle for each device type/generation.

Glad you got Windows 11 installed using the new guide! Congratulations on your Framework Laptop 16. Feel free to ask questions in the forums, it is where all of us started to learn about the devices and little things that can go on with them. If you ever venture into installing Linux on the laptop there are a ton of Linux users on the forums too (I primarily use Windows, old Unix, and old BSD systems).

Exciting to have more new users to the Framework community. :horse :rope

Awesome, thanks so much @pkunk! Took two tries but bluetooth is now happy and my headphones are tested and working!
