You currently have $1.4k worth of my components, and have been ghosting me for 2 weeks after asking me to send all of my parts in for diagnosis.
To Summarize:
My components have been working for over a year, switched out a dock 2 months before issues started.
I updated bios and reinstalled windows with new drivers
Suddenly power delivery issues when I plug in my thunderbolt docks
I bought replacement parts because mainboard was 3 months out of warranty
Replacement Mainboards also fail
Finally tell me to send everything in, but don’t let me send in the original mainboard for diagnosis because it’s out of warranty.
Tell me I have faulty RAM that is damaging all of the mainboards. And that its not covered by warranty. The original damage was obviously caused by the Mainboard or BIOS/Driver updates.
“Escalates” when I ask for a refund, with no response after 2 weeks. AND doesn’t send me back my parts.
Even if it was a freak accident, I would not expect it cause physical damage to my RAM (There was no physical damage visible). And IF that were the case, that is still an issue with your mainboard.
Also VERY CONVENIENT that it is now past the return window for the replacement mainboard I purchased because of this lack of response.
edit: i have been frustrated by this process and had begun to assume the worst intentions.
Still very peeved by the warranty
I’d be inclined to persist here, @Eagle is always happy to help.
It may be worth noting that if you chased your original support case via email, the additional contact from your side may have reset the timer, which unfortunately puts you to the back of the queue. Not ideal, but possibly a reason for leaving you in the dark for so long.
It has been said on this forum that any delays in support are not intended to timeout your warranty. For now I would tend to believe that, and I would be inclined to encourage you to delete that part of your post. (My guess is that if the warranty has only just expired, a little diplomacy will encourage the escalation team to treat your issue more kindly).
I replied once to the email more than a week ago, and have been waiting since then because i am aware of the issue with multiple emails causing my place in the queue to reset. this is well passed the quoted timeline for a response, and the previous 2-3 days response time that had been occurring previously.
Also learning that warranty doesn’t apply if ANY third party components are used is extremely upsetting especially since Framework advertises itself as aligned with DIY and repairability. What is the point if I have to buy every component from framework in order to have a warranty?
