Solved: New DIY won’t boot from encrypted disk

Just got my DIY device. I took my encrypted disk from my old laptop and put it into the framework laptop. When I boot the device it immediately shows an error message “default boot device missing or boot failed”. On my old laptop I would be prompted for the encryption password during boot.

I am not a Linux expert. Does the boot problem have to do with the encryption or is there another problem?

Did you have more than one ssd / hdd in your old laptop?
My first thought is that the boot partition/grub/etc… is on a different disk…

Can you put the disk back in your old laptop and confirm it’s working?

Seems it’s solved: Disabled Secureboot and now it’s booting.
