I plan on moving towards standalone usage of the FW 16 soon, and I realized that I’m not sure how the wifi antennas are handled. Has anyone here setup their FW in standalone mode and used wifi? If so, how was that managed? Obviously, the m.2 card is on the board, but I don’t see a spot on the case I just printed to hold the antenna. Wondering if I should plan on ordering a usb wifi adapter.
The antenna normally goes around the screen, so if you’re using the stock top cover, you should be good to go.
Do you mean the top cover of the laptop, or the 3D printed standalone case?
Oh, my bad - I didn’t register properly what kind of case you were talking about.
In that case - I don’t see any adaptations for it, so you might need a wif adapter.
This is not directly responsive to your question, but if you don’t mind sacrificing Bluetooth and some network latency you could go with a USB wi-fi adapter. I bought an Ethernet expansion card for my standalone setup to work around the Wi-Fi issue (and I don’t use Bluetooth with my standalone).

Also you could stick with an m.2 module and mess around with diff types of antenna setups. Could be fun - lots of options out there and you might be able to connect em to your standalone case relatively easily.
Just get a pair of IPEX4 antennas of your choice, pretty hard to get anything worse than what’s built into fw13 XD.
