Storage expansion module

Hi.

I’m hoping to order the Ryzen 7 framework 13 soon, and will be getting the 1TB expansion card/module. With regard to the ports on the Ryzen board, 2 of the ports are USB4 and 2 are USB3.2.

What protocol do the 1TB expansion cards use? Can I use it in any port without penalty?

Could you explain why it would be faster on slot 1 and 3 when the card itself only provides USB 3.2 Gen 2 Speed?

It seems to me that the card won’t get extra benefit from a USB4 port, or am I missing something?

Currently considering buying a storage expansion card for my AMD 7840U framework 13, so I would like to get this clarified, thanks!

It should not. The posters above are just speculating. The storage expansion card is only capable of USB 3.2 gen 2 speeds as you’ve identified.
