Stylus for existing pre-orders?

With my batch 1 pre-order there was no option to order an stylus. With new orders there is an option to order an stylus for free.

What are the options of the first batches to order an stylus?

My guess is that since the option says stylus ships in Q3, that it’s only being offered as a package with computers that also ship in Q3. Batches 0-6 ship in June/ July, so I don’t think the stylus would be manufactured yet.

I also think that the stylus price won’t be free. If I see online for USI-stylus, then the prices are around 60 euro and cheaper from Ali Express. I think that they will work too, if I look for the technical specifications. But, they don’t look so nice as the Framework ones in the matching colors with your FW12.

Stylus is optional and not included in the laptop price, it will be available later this year and will be added to the marketplace. will share more details as we have them.

Could you add a few details about the pen? Like if it is attachable or there will be a holder… there is a similar post on this subject.

Thanks, then it was I think some mistake on the website for the free options for batch 7 of the stylus. Then it will be an option to buy it later or not.

I think we displayed the wrong message for couple of minutes while adding the stylus related information to the configurator, that should be fixed now.

Will they be ready to ship with Batch 1 (or later batches) or will we have to just buy them separately? It’d be amazing if we could add them to our pre-orders.

checking this with our internal teams but it seems like shipment for the first batches will be before the stylus shipment in Q3, looks like it won’t be possible, at least for the first batches.

My order is in Q3 (Batch 7), idk if it is possible to add a stylus to the order (once the stylus becomes available for pre-order) so that it can go at the same time (and saving shipping fee)? I’d assume it is the case since we can still modify the pre-order; if not, the Framework team should make it more convenient for users of later batches to include a stylus in their existing orders, and that will be great. Maybe an automatic notification for all eligible pre-orders?

I’ll cross my fingers that it will be available for my batch 7.

Honestly, it is a bit of a bummer that we cannot place an order with a stylus now. While I understand that logistics is complicated, and that you cannot make a promise when nothing is definite yet (for example, the stylus can get delayed due to some unknown reasons after Q3 even), making multiple shipments is inconvenient and incurs unnecessary cost, while being bad for the environment.
