greetings.
i have a framework itx board currently on preorder for use in a custom build and I’m planning to use a slim fan instead of the standard thickness fans provided by framework. will any slim fan screws be made available? if not knowing the spec for witch screws to buy to provide my own screws would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Very interested here too.
The specs for motherboard, cooler & 120mm standard height fans put it just over the max height for 2U cases.
And I’ve not been able to find side blower fans with have the requisite CFM & static pressure.
Presumably a 3U case would be fine, but low profile fans might unlock 2U….

It depends on the fan thickness you’re looking to use. For example, for our fan we use 26.5mm L w/duct. Without duct, you can still use 26.5mm with a 1mm gap from the heatsink fin. If you’re looking to use something like a 15mm fan, w/o duct L would be 18, and w/ duct L 20 would be recommended. Let me know if that helps!

I was planning to use a 15mm thick fan so yes thanks for that info. Knowing the threadiing spec would also help. If its a standard such as m4 or whatever that also makes things simple.
W/ fan duct: The screw recommended to use is M3 L=2.7+2.7+fan thickness
W/O fan duct : M3 L=2.7+ fan thickness.
Since you mentioned 15mm: w/o duct L is 18; w/ duct L 20 is recommended.
