Is the button like how you use an smartphone phone that has electrical signal senses that Knows you or your special gloves or special pen that it’s touching it, Or is it a finger print scanner like the mac laptops’ finger print key?
The button, that is the switch that powers on the laptop, I believe is a real physical push-to-click button. A switch known as a tactile or tact switch. And as such, it will respond as long as enough force is applied to click it.
The fingerprint reader portion is a separate device, technically fully independent from the power switch. Not certain if it’s capacitive-based (tiny electrical signal sensing), or optical-based, or otherwise. But either way, I wouldn’t expect it to work through gloves.
Fingerprint scanner is a “Goodix MOC Fingerprint Sensor” USB ID: 27c6:609c (connected via internal usb), in case you wish to google around & try to find what technology it uses.
